How to get to Sunbeam Motels & Lodge
To find us when you come into Ohakune, turn at the i-site (T-intersection) from SH 49 (Clyde Street) into Goldfinch Street. Continue up this road for approx 2km. We are on the right just before you get to the start of the mountain road to Turoa Ski resort.Ideally situated, the Ruapehu Mountain Motel and Lodge is on the main road to the mountain.
We are a short 5 min walk from the Railway station.

15 minute drive to Turoa Skifield for a fantastic Snow, Ski, or Snowboarding experience. 1/2hr drive to Whakapapa skifield. We are on the door step to Tongariro National Park with all grades of Mountain Biking trails. Hiking and Tramping is a major activity in the area with many bush and alpine tracks open throughout the Park. 1/2 hour drive to the world famous Tongariro Alpine Crossing. Situated 200m from the start of the Old Coach Road walking and mountain biking trail. The beautiful Waimarino Golf course is only a 5 min drive away. Many exciting Trout fishing streams and rivers are found throughout the region, including the famous Tongariro River. Lake Taupo for swimming, sailing, fishing and motor boat sports is only 1hr drive away. .Horse trekking available through the National parks lush forests.
