How to get to The Ambers

Finding The Ambers is easy. We are only 30 minutes drive north of Auckland city.From the South (Auckland city): Take the Motorway (State Highway 1) out of Auckland and then the Silverdale exit just north of Albany. Turn left onto State Highway 17 and then first right into Pine Valley Road. The Ambers is at the bottom of the hill. From the North (Orewa): ollow State Highway 1 South. Take the Silverdale exit and turn right into State Highway 17 and then first right into Pine Valley Road. The Ambers is at the bottom of the hill.We look forward to welcoming you in our home!!

The Ambers Luxury B&B offers a quiet retreat for small executive conferences. We have four double rooms available and nearby motels may accommodate more guests. We provide phone, fax, email, broadband internet access, all from a private study. The spacious lounge and dining room serves as a conference room. A projector and a projector screen can be provided upon request. As the lounge has an open fire it is an ideal place to discuss those important management issues without having to leave the house.

Out and About

5 minutes from the Ambers Luxury B&B we have the SnowPlanet which is New Zealands only all-year indoor snow resort) and the Indoor Go Kart Centre and Bumper Boats. Also within 5 minutes is the Pro Aim Golf Driving Rangewhere you can practice your golf. The Peninsula Golf Course is the local golf course and less than 10 minutes from our B&B. 15 minutes from the Ambers Luxury B&B there is Waiwera Thermal Spa Resort which offers sparkling, clean, thermal mineral waters in a variety of pools and, a little further up is Couldrey House Museum which is a Historical House Museum of the Victorian/Edwardian era set in the beautiful grounds of Wenderholm Regional Park20-30 minutes from the Ambers Luxury B&B youll find the Gulf Harbour Golf Course which is known as an international standard golf course, and after a short ferry ride, Tiri Tiri Matangi Island which lies 4 km off the coast of Whangaparaoa Peninsula. It is designated an open sanctuary, cleared of predators and provides an opportunity to visit a genuine open wildlife sanctuary featuring many species of endangered New Zealand bird life, including the kiwi and takahe. Further up north lies Goat Island (also known as: Cape Rodney Okakari Point Marine Reserve) which is one of New Zealands most successful marine reserves. A magical maritime world with fish swimming all around you. Rub noses with Grand-daddy snapper or simply experience the vast array of colourful marine life. You can dive, snorkel or take the glass bottomed boat out and view the marine life from above. And then, with a ferry leaving from Sandspit, there is Kawau Island with a historic Reserve and Mansion House. This is the ideal spot for picnics, swimming, bush walks and fishing off the rocks. You can go surfing the waves on the speedy Kawau Jet, or visit historic Mansion House, richly steeped in the history of the Northland region. You can also visit the islands copper mine.From Warkworth (about 50-60 minutes north of the Harbour Bridge) there are six vineyards which are open to the public and offer wine tasting: Ascension Vineyard Caf; Ransom Wines; Matakana Estate; Hyperion Wines; Herons Flight Vineyard Caf; Mahurangi Estate. Just 4 km north of Warkworth, there is a farm and nature park where they have sheep and dog shows, pony rides, sales of luxury sheepskin rugs, footwear and clothing, premium quality merino wool and possum fur sweaters, scarves, blankets and thousands of hand made New Zealand handcrafts. Also, about 5 minutes north of Warkworth you can hire quiet horses and ponies for all ages, also receive horse riding lessons from either Pakiri Beach Horse Riding Just north of Leigh (about 60-90 minutes north of the Harbour Bridge) you can hire horses for a short ride (from one hour) to a full days ride and even overnight safari or moonlight rides or a weekend escape or longer custom Safaris of up to four days can be arranged.
