How to get to Drifters Inn
From Christchurch:Travel North on State Highway 1 to Waipara. Turn left at Waipara to join State Highway 7, at Hanmer Springs Junction leave SH7, and take SH7a into Hanmer. Drive time = 90mins - 2 hrs.
From Kaikoura/Blenheim:
From SH1 take either the Inland Rd (SH70) after Kaikoura golf course, or the turning onto the Leader Rd further south. Follow either road to Waiau, proceed through Rotherham and join (turning right) SH7. Proceed to Hanmer junction and join SH7a into Hanmer. Drive time = 90 - 110 mins.
From Nelson/Golden Bay/West Coast:
Travel to Springs Junction then east over the Lewis Pass. At Hanmer Junction join SH7a into Hanmer Springs.
Once in Hanmer Spings travel into the village along tree-lined Amuri Ave. Drifters is the schist clad building located on the corner of Amuri Avenue and Harrogate St. It is opposite the thermal reserve and i-site, before the first block of shops on the right.
The Hanmer Connection shuttle bus runs several times a day from the Christhchurch i-site to/from Hanmer.

Children are most welcome. Monsters are not.At DRIFTERS INN, we consider an infant, child and or a teen, to be a person.
We have guidelines to adhere to, for your safety and enjoyment.
We wish to respect you, your family and the others that may be staying with us here. We ask that you do the same.
Best to select; a King Studio at the very minimum if travelling with an infant.
Super King will take three persons maximum. Advance notice required for three seperate beds. Family interconnecting Studios; will accommodate comfortably 4 persons, we do have options for greater numbers, but best to ring and discuss.
Advance notice is required to ensure bed configuration is correct on arrival.
If unsure - RING US, to discuss how your needs would be best met. We would rather work it out than have a family put out. This is especailly true during periods of total occupancy, as we most likely will have limited choices when you get here. WE ONLY WANT ALL GUESTS TO BE COMFORTABLE.
