How to get to Raetihi Lodge
Transportation ArrangementsThere are three ways to reach the Lodge, by road, water or air.
WATERTAXI
From Havelock, Daily service, approx. 30 minutes, cost on application
From Picton; Cougar Line Water Taxi, scheduled services, $150 per person (return)
From Te Mahia or Portage; a free car park is available at Te Mahia (main Kenepuru Road), watertaxi 8 minutes to Lodge. This is $60pp (return)
ROAD
Two hours scenic drive down The Kenepuru Road. From Linkwater (the main road turn off) to Raetihi Lodge is about 74 kilometers. Car parking at Te Mahia and travel on by water taxi to Raetihi Lodge saves 1.5 hours drive. The road is spectacular and can be driven on in a regular car. Note though that it is winding and narrow in parts and un-sealed for the last 30 kilometers.

CRUISES; cruise through the Kenepuru Sound. Learn about Mussel farming and explore this wonderful part of New Zealand. Greenshell Mussels are native to New Zealand & found nowhere else in the world ! The skipper will enlighten you with explanations of the unique wildlife, geographical and historical features of the area.
FISHING charters are available in the area, with local skippers Snapper is most commonly caught in the Kenepuru & Pelorus Sounds and blue cod in the outer Pelorus.
Take a Beach Picnic we can prepare your lunch then get dropped off at your own beach
HIKING; in the nearby reserve, up to the telecommunications tower or walk a section of the reknown Queen Charlotte Track.
GOLF; Visitors are welcome at the 13-hole Nopera Golf Course, 4 kms from the Lodge. It is a truly memorable experience playing beside the sea with sheep grazed fairways and fenced greens in the charming Kenepuru Sound.
